Dessert Sampler Blocks 8 and 9

by Christine Lux

Happy Friday!

I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to the weekend and getting to spend some time with my sewing machine!

Today, we are working on blocks 8 and 9. Both are essentially courthouse step blocks, which are easy to piece and wait for it ... no HSTs!  Haha

Now that we are working on smaller blocks, we will sometimes make more than one at once if they are very similar in construction. I love efficiency in my sewing projects whenever possible!

Once you have your fabrics cut, start by adding strips to opposite sides of the center square. You’ll keep doing this as instructed in the pattern until you’ve added them all.

Since I pressed my smaller corner square seams toward the square, I pressed my strips to the center as I sewed.

While the construction of these two are the same, I love how playing with the fabric placement changes the look a bit.

My pile of blocks is growing nicely! 😁

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Sewing!
