Stripe Me Lucky - a Scrappy Quilt Project

by Christine Lux

When we first saw this new pattern by Michelle McKillop from the Jen Kingwell Collective, we knew we had to make it!

This pattern is the perfect scrap buster. And the blocks are a really fun excuse to play with color and prints from lots of different designers and in ways you may not normally do so.

Most of the blocks I've been making so far have come straight out of my scrap bin or from leftovers of recent projects already on my cutting table. Leftover or orphaned charm squares, jelly roll strips, layer cake squares, and even mini charm squares are perfect for this one!

Generally, in a scrappy quilt like this, more prints is better! So just go for it and don't worry too much about whether or not things "match" within a block or for the quilt as a whole.

I do usually pick one print for each block to work from and you'll notice that in some of blocks here in this post. So far, I've made six of the 25 blocks needed and have been making them in pairs so I could chain piece them. They are quick to sew - in fact, it takes me longer to decide on the prints than it does to cut and sew them!

We have some starter fabric kits, patterns, and a full scraptastic kit if you want to sew this one up too!

Happy Sewing!
